Message from Dale Chief Nurse Executive & Vice President of Patient Care Services
August 5, 2021

Dear colleagues,
Welcome to the month of August! This week I join Stanford Medicine in celebrating Stanford Health Care (SHC) as we once again rank among the nation’s top hospitals by the U.S. News & World Report. For the seventh year in a row, SHC has joined the U.S. News & World Report’s highest-performing and top tier nationwide facilities who are listed on the Best Hospitals Honor Roll. Out of the over 5,000 hospitals that are evaluated each year, only 20 facilities earn spots on this prestigious Honor Roll by demonstrating outstanding care across the board. This year, despite the challenges of the global pandemic, SHC was ranked number 12 nationwide, number 4 in California, and number 1 in the San Jose metropolitan area.   I would especially like to note the eight specialties whose rankings rose this past year: cancer, cardiology and heart surgeryear, nose and throatgastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgerygeriatricsgynecologypulmonology and lung surgeryurology Kudos to all who have worked diligently over the past year to advance these specialties.
This uplifting recognition in the U.S. News & World Report is all due to the hard work, dedication, insightful care, and compassion that each and every one of you demonstrate on a daily basis. Thank you to all for your tremendous contributions, exceptional patient care, and commitment to serve our patients, their families, our community, and beyond.
Congratulations to everyone on this meaningful national recognition! It is a great honor to work alongside SHC’s team of distinguished and engaged interprofessionals who every day inspire me with their bright minds and caring hearts.
With respect and admiration,
Dale Beatty, DNP, RN, NEA-BC Chief Nurse Executive and VP of Patient Care Services |Teacher // Equalizer|
