Message from Dale Chief Nursing Officer & Vice President of Patient Care Service December 30, 2020

Message from Dale Chief Nursing Officer &Vice President of Patient Care Service December 30, 2020
Dear Colleagues,

This is the last issue of Looking Forward for 2020. 2020, named by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the Year of the Nurse and Midwife, has indeed been a challenging and unprecedented year with a fitting designation. When the WHO named the year 2020 in honor of Florence Nightingale’s 200th anniversary, they did not yet know what was to come, but this year has pushed nurses to the front and center of the world’s view. Throughout the challenges of 2020’s worldwide pandemic, nurses have advanced their vital role and have worked diligently to transform global healthcare. The resourcefulness, initiative, teamwork, and compassion that each and every one of you has shown during this past year continues to astound me.
Join me in watching Stanford Nursing’s uplifting Resiliency video and reading an article by Stanford Medicine, “In the Year of the Nurse, front lines take on pandemic – Scope (stanford.edu),” depicting our collective strength, excellence in nursing, and the ability to band together during unprecedented times.
