We are excited to share with you that we have submitted the 4th Magnet® re-designation document to the American Nurses Credentialing Center! This document contains the descriptions and supporting evidence of our nursing professional & interprofessional excellence. The rich professional nursing work described in this document is inspiring and demonstrates our deep commitment to our patients, our values, and our community.
Our Magnet® document by the numbers:3500+ pages of written narrative describing nursing excellence across 82 standards~200 departments showcased~700 nurses & interprofessional colleagues individually named for their unique contributions to patient care & the organization450+ sources of evidence to support written narratives (exemplars)~600 Data tables~500+ Nursing-sensitive Outcomes
|Magnet: Next Steps:|
A team of three Magnet® appraisers will read and score our written document over the next few months. We will be notified of the outcome of that review and will learn the plans for formal site visit, which could occur as early as December. More than likely this visit will be a virtual visit.
We are extremely proud of the work featured in this document, and of the many team members who contributed to its development. Less than 10% of hospitals are Magnet® designated and only 2% make it to 4th designation. By choosing to embrace Magnet®, we hold ourselves to a higher level of nursing care, nursing practice environment standards, interprofessional collaboration and patient outcomes. Thank you for all that you do every day to support our Magnet® culture of professional excellence in Nursing.
