Dear Colleagues,
Last week, we heard our SHC families express their gratitude and appreciation for all of the personal and professional sacrifices made while on the frontlines of this battle against the COVID-19 outbreak. In addition, we have heard countless stories of staff making personal sacrifices to help those in need, including staff members shaving their beards so they can better serve and protect our patients, and co-workers who volunteer without hesitation to take care of COVID-19 patients to support their peers and help out their unit. These inspirational accounts highlight the strength and dedication of our nurses and healthcare professionals.
This week, I would like to share with you all the gratitude and appreciation that our community has expressed for your hard work and commitment during these uncertain times. We have received numerous donations of food and treats for the frontline staff, as well as meaningful messages like this one below.
Please take a moment to watch and learn how your dedication has inspired a San Francisco Giant’s player and local community member, Hunter Pence, and his family. As Hunter Pence stated, “You guys are the personification of courage, of bravery; you’re sacrificing yourself for the embetterment of the world.” I couldn’t agree more, thank you all for rising to this unprecedented challenge and making a difference every day.

You are appreciated.
