American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet virtual site visit

December 3, 2020
Dear Colleagues,
Today is the final day of our celebratory American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet virtual site visit. We have thoroughly enjoyed these four days of showcasing our culture of nursing excellence with our Magnet appraisers. While the appraisers were thoroughly impressed with SHC’s patient-centered care, they were even more impressed with the care that we have for each other and how we have holistically supported our colleagues and community throughout challenging times.
Kudos to our Magnet Liaison Teams!!!

I would like to congratulate everyone here at SHC and offer a resounding thank you for all of your exemplary contributions. Your ability to offer the appraisers a glimpse into our exceptional world of Stanford Nursing was impressive and demonstrates our philosophy of advancing healthcare globally. Across the entire organization, from inpatient to ambulatory care to interventional platforms and every department in between, each unit and department shined throughout this virtual visit.
Over the past four days, the top notch Magnet team of scribes, quality experts, team leaders, Magnet liaisons, Information Technology (IT), site visit escorts, and Shared Leadership’s Magnet and Professional Growth and Development Council members have gone above and beyond to facilitate this Magnet journey and site visit. Together, the appraisers virtually visited over 42 units and care areas that showcased how SHC has deeply embedded the evidence-based Magnet Components throughout our organization. Once again, I am awe-struck, along with our Magnet appraisers, at the astounding interprofessional teamwork, compassion, and the caring heart of Stanford Nursing.
With respect and admiration,
Dale Beatty, DNP, RN, NEA-BCChief Nursing Officer and VP of Patient Care Services
