
Dr. Karla Schroeder was recognized as a 2017 End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Winner for commitment to ongoing nursing education. During her role as the Director of Palliative Medicine & Geriatric Services, Karla and her team provided ELNEC courses for over 250 nurses at Stanford, as well as delivered ELNEC core curriculum for the Alaska Native Tribal Consortium. Karla credits her team for all their dedication during this work.
Karla recently stepped into a new role as Manager of Advanced Practice and Director of the Advanced Practice Fellowship Program where she will be supporting the professional growth and wellness initiatives of Stanford’s Advanced Practice Providers.
In addition to this award, Karla recently published a journal article entitled, “Nursing and the Future of Palliative Care” in the Asian-Pacific Journal of Oncology Nursing with another colleague.
