Dear Colleagues,
We kicked off this week with a fantastic presentation by Judee Berg MS, RN, FACHE at Nursing Grand Rounds. Judee delivered a powerful message regarding the imperative we have as a profession to develop language that helps us articulate the value nursing brings to the health care system and patient experience. Our unique nursing contributions (i.e., assessing, critical thinking, decision-making, advocating, etc) are largely invisible to the public and difficult to quantify. However, through the use of nursing diagnoses and planning evidenced-based care for our patients, we are able to make visible the contributions, as well as the fundamental importance of nursing.
