I wanted to take this opportunity to invite all of you to the Annual Friends of Nursing Tree Lighting Ceremony and Gingerbread House Competition in the Atrium on December 13th from 9-11am—we will have a fun and festive time and I hope to see each of you there. We will be announcing the Friends of Nursing Scholarship & Grant Winners as well as voting for winners of the Gingerbread House Competition. Below are some pictures of the Gingerbread House Competition from last year to help inspire some excitement and creativity.
I also wanted to take a moment to congratulate Karen McIntyre, RN, BSN, OCN, BMTCN, CHPN, and Assistant Patient Care Manager for the ITA, Heme/BMT/Apheresis. Karen was awarded a Stanford Nurse Alumnae Legacy Project Grant by the Office of Research. This Grant is awarded twice a year and supports innovative research and projects that improve health care outcomes. Karen will be using grant funds to build on a previous qualitative improvement project and host nursing communication courses for Cancer Center ITA nurses that will be held in late winter/early spring of 2018.
Congratulations Karen and good luck!
