Congratulations on a great interdisciplinary accomplishment for our Stanford Digestive Health team.
Berkeley Limketkai, MD Monica Choe, RN and Neha Shah, MPH, RD, CNSC work closely together each day caring for our nutrition support and intestinal failure patients at our Blake Wilbur Clinic.
Clinical Nutrition Week (CNW) week is a national conference held by the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) and provides lectures and poster presentations on topics related to nutrition support (for enteral and parenteral nutrition therapies).
At the suggestion of Dr. Limketkai, the team presented a case study of two intestinal failure patients with similar clinical presentation post gastrectomy. Monica took the lead to compile the patients’ medical history, diagnostic work-ups and information of this rare condition based on existing literature. She reviewed the abstract with the nutrition team and then submitted the abstract last fall, which was accepted to the ASPEN conference in February 2017 http://www.nutritioncare.org.
The team presented their poster (see above) in Orlando Florida on February 20th, 2017.
This case study will also be published in ASPEN journal as well. Well done!!!
